Welcome to the pages of the Nonlinear Photonics group!

We aim to achieve experimental realization of advanced optical materials and fundamental theoretical understanding of wave phenomena in complex structured media. The basis of our research is interconnections between the structured light, material properties, nonlinearity, and disorder that collectively shape the behaviour of light propagation. Our mission is to advance predictability and control of light propagation effects in structured media, beam shaping, new ways to manage diffraction, localization, and discover novel nonlinear optical phenomena.

Nonlinear Photonics group started in 2010 at the Institute of Physics of the University of Belgrade to control nonlinear phenomena and exploit them for novel optical systems. Controlling light in all its features is the key to various applications. We achieve it by nonlinear structuring of matter with light. Our research activities are therefore centered around the basics of nonlinear physics and applications in communications, bioscience, neural networks, nano- and optical technologies.
